Gilt Ensemble

The Gilt Ensemble are an innovative, adventurous and exciting music ensemble who specialise in contemporary music.
Looking to widen the often-preconceived notion that contemporary music is not universally accessible as a musical genre, the Gilt Ensemble consists of some of the UK's finest soloists, established chamber music groups and composers.
By using players who regularly perform together in their own chamber music ensemble as part of a bigger group creates a fantastically vibrant and cohesive sound. For example, having a string section that have played together as part of a quartet for years gives the kind of understanding that's simply not possible from using session players. It's this deep understanding of each others playing that gives Gilt Ensemble its unique sound.
During 2012 we will be developing a stunning programme of works for the 2013 concert season as well as performing Philip Glass' Glassworks as part of the Vale of Glamorgan Festival.
Our website is being completely overhauled throughout 2012 to match the brilliance of the music to be performed in 2013. It's going to be an exciting year for the group and we're sorry we're not doing more concerts during this artistic development period.
Please come to our performance on May 8th of the stunning Glassworks by Philip Glass at the Vale of Glamorgan Festival. It would be great to see you there!
